ADJUSTING SCHEDULE

Dear Partners,

We thank you so much for your continued support and partnership without which it will be really un-imaginable for us to function. Your support reached our hearts!

We are even more grateful for it as we know we need it now more than ever before. Thankful despite the challenges and sometimes misunderstandings surrounding us.

Schedule

We continue to adjust to our schedule as Marylin started taking a part time Early Childhood Development course last September. This adding to her responsibilities at the Base and as Missions Director of the church plus volunteering 3 days each week at a preschool as part of the course.  It is a lot of work for her but we believe the sacrifice is worth it considering the growing reality of the kids that are in need to be reached now even earlier than ever before; we need to be equipped to see how to take the ministry to children to the next level. Better understanding of the children we are working with is crucial. She still has a whole year to go. Guy continues to homeschool Asaph learning more patience and grace. We would have loved to attend the YWAM staff conference in the Dominican Republic but realized it may be complicated to get a direct flight without passing through Miami (USA). Our visa being expired we didn’t want to go through the hassle at this moment but may remain busy not just with ministry but also attending a Missions conference in Trinidad.

Our present committment to a full 24 hour break each week in our time table as a family is helping us to connect more.

More than just starting a Ministry

For the past 8 years we pray for a property for the ywam base with high hopes and believing that the event of such will relieve us and the ministry from one of the biggest pressures and help us focus more on the essentials.  The reality is that we have come to the fact that we need a more extended partnership to mobilized beyond our current network to successfully undertake such enterprise especially in a place as the Caribbean. from there we have been feeling we may change the way to pray. Either to expand our network or re-scale the ministry at a level that we can handle and develop accordingly. Our faith remains on God and we continue to dream His big dreams but we are also more aware than before of our pioneering situation pioneering not just in term of starting a new ywam base but also in terms of where we come from and the type of environment we are operating in.

Prayer Point:-

  • Pray for understanding and God's Intervention : there have been a persisting misunderstanding of our Local Church since we came to pioneer the ministry of YWAM on the Island. We assume that our ministry being based on the Island aggravated the situation. Adding to existing or persisting mind sets that we are still only a mission field. Mobilizing missionaries IN seems to be easier than mobilizing to send OUT of our nations. This is creating a very unhealthy sentiment increasing the pressure that we already had and threatening our existing already weak support base.

  • Pray with us that our churches and people will understand their new role as missions force in the new global missions dynamic and that Mobilizing agencies like YWAM and others are not perceived as competing but as needed partners.

  • Pray for a stable and consistent source of support for us as a family and the ministry
