Update June 2026
Dear family and friends,
"...It’s obvious, of course, that he didn’t go to all this trouble for angels. It was for people like us, children of Abraham. That’s why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people’s sins, he would have already experienced it all himself—all the pain, all the testing—and would be able to help where help was needed..."
— Hebrews 2:16–18
As I reflected on these verses this quarter, I was reminded of the amazing truth that Jesus became fully human—not for angels, but for us. Because He experienced every aspect of our humanity, we can come to Him with confidence, knowing He understands and cares for every detail of our lives.
It is with that same confidence in His faithfulness that we are excited to share some of the ways God has been at work over the past few months.
Family
God has been gracious to ous, and we are truly thankful for the way He looks after us. Often, it’s in the small moments that we feel His love most profoundly.
Asaph is diligently working to complete his school year by the end of June. We are appreciative of God’s guidance in his life. On his football team, he has earned a spot on the under-17 squad list. Although he has yet to join the first team, his confidence with the ball at his feet is growing rapidly.
We are grateful to God for the kindness of friends that enables us to take a much-needed family trip this summer. We will keep you updated!
MINISTRIES
Praise Report
In early May, we were delighted to have over 200 individuals gather to support the YWAM Prayer Luncheon. Attendees purchased buffet tickets and joined us in a time of worship and prayer, reflecting on what God is doing and planning for Saint Lucia through YWAM. The enthusiasm and response to the call for support of a Home for YWAM St. Lucia were truly inspiring, culminating in the collection of EC$ 3000 during the event.
We give thanks to God for those who have contributed to the "Operation Home" project for YWAM St. Lucia, as well as for the pledges made by friends prior to the 2026 Prayer Luncheon. We see this as a divine sign to encourage our faith. We firmly believe that God will perform miraculous works, reminding us of a scripture He revealed to me back in 1991: ‘Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.’ Habakkuk 1:5 🙏🏾.
Upcoming Events: Summer Missions Adventure
We are actively preparing for the 2026 Summer Missions Adventure and eagerly anticipating the arrival of both local and international youth for this program. (Marylin) My time has been devoted to writing and following up on fundraising letters for donations and sponsorships for our local participants.
Asaph has been instrumental in inviting numerous local youth who are eager to partake in this year’s program, which perfectly aligns with his age group of 14 to 25-year-olds. We are praying that the young people will experience a profound impact during the program; as they have fun, they will also learn how to deepen their relationship with the Lord and share their faith with this generation. Fun - Discipleship - Missionary service form the dynamic trinity that characterizes the essence of this 10-day program.
Children At Risk
As previously mentioned, both Guy and I (Marylin) serve respectively as coordinator and facilitators for the Children At Risk seminar, which is being conducted online and has attracted over 250 participants from around the globe. The UofN seminar, which we have been part of in the past, equips participants with tools and insights to more effectively engage with Children At Risk. It emphasizes the heart of God for these children while allowing for the sharing of resources and experiences among ministers and professionals in the field.
This journey has proven to be highly informative, often heart-wrenching, as we hear about the myriad atrocities faced by children both before and after birth. It’s difficult not to imagine how deeply God’s heart aches for them. Some individuals fail to grasp the significance of ministering to children; they are at the beginning of their lives and possess the potential to make impacts far beyond what we can envision. The 1st and 2nd Modules of the seminar have now concluded, with Module 3 scheduled for later in October. Here at YWAM Saint Lucia, as you may know, we are actively involved with
Children and youth At Risk through our ministries at the Juvenile Centre, the Transit Home, and other initiatives.
Kid's Club
In recent months, we've welcomed a notable number of new children and youth into our kids club, with some parents even reaching out to inquire about our programs.
We pray for an increase in staff to help us enhance the ministry, allowing us to create an even more engaging after-school program or a daily discipleship camp during the summer. As school lets out, many parents are seeking ways to keep their children safely active.
We give thanks to God for the opportunity to invest in their lives and pray that the Bible lessons and activities we share with them will serve as lasting seeds for their growth.
Youth and School Ministry
With the Summer vacation we come to a pause with the ministry in schools since we conduct religious knowledge (RK) sessions in three public schools three days a week.
This break we hope will give us the opportunity to ressource ourselves, strategies and hopefully see more volunteers show increased interest for this ministry that is very strategic to our Youth.
Please pray for this ministry "...The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Matthew 9:37-38.
