Many YWAM locations can help people put together a prayer and financial support team (often through friends, home groups, churches, relatives, etc.) before they join as staff. Most YWAM staff meet their financial needs through financial supporters while others hold an additional  job for financial or ministry reasons if their responsabilities and comitments allow them. • Is this Organization only for young people or only focused on young people?

    No;

    Youth With A Mission began as an organization to help young people get involved in the global purposes of God and this will always be a primary focus for YWAM. However, now many people join YWAM as a second career or after retirement. Some of the young people who joined us in the 1960s are still serving with YWAM, and so are some of their grandchildren! Some of YWAM’s Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) specifically focus on providing mission training for families or older students, such as Crossroads DTS (CDTS) you can either do a CDTS or contact us to let us know your interest.”

  • Can you help me locate a person who currently is in YWAM or was at some time?

    YWAM does not have an international administrative office that maintains a database of every YWAM staff person and all YWAM alumni. YWAM Saint Lucia can help for some of our past volunteer/ students (when possible). But If you want to connect with a person in YWAM, please contact the location they work with directly or their last known location. Another avenue is to try social networking sites like the YWAM Facebook page.

  • Who is the leader of YWAM and what is the leadership structure of the organization?

    YWAM was founded in 1960 by Loren and Darlene Cunningham. Today it operates as a family of ministries.

    As YWAM has grown over the years, it has developed as a family of ministries. Although we have global networks of leaders and elders, we do not have a headquarters. Our decentralized structure gives room for leaders to emerge from many different cultures.

    Each YWAM location is responsible for initiating its own ministries, organizing its own training programs, and doing its own fundraising. All YWAM locations are expected to uphold the vision, purpose, beliefs and values of YWAM.

    A YWAM eldership group called the Founders’ Circle serves as a guardian of YWAM’s vision, purpose, beliefs and values. YWAM also has a leadership structure for the University of the Nations and leadership teams for global ministries such as Frontier Mission, and King’s Kids.

  • Does YWAM offer scholarships for its training courses?

    Since each training center operates within their own framework, scholarships given would depend upon each center’s policy for financial aid. When you apply for a training program, ask if there are scholarships available. We at YWAM Saint Lucia are working hard to raise fund to keep school and program fees low or provide when possible scholarchip for persons in need. contact us if you can help or have a Question.

  • Why is the cost of YWAM Program different for citizen of different county

    At times,  the actual cost of  programs and volunteer fee can make the opportunity less accessible to persons from developing nations. To give the opportunity to many to answer the call to serve, we significantly reduce participation's fees for those from developing Countries. even if we will have to raise extra funds to suplement.

    YWAM UofN use information supplied by the UN and other sources to ranks countries in three categories.

    - Category A Nation - Per Capita Income Average of $12,001 and more (usually North America and Europe)

    - Category B Nation - Per Capita Income Average of $5,001 to $12,000 (Medium revenue Counties)

    -Category C Nation -  Per capita income of $5,000 and less (usually very poor or developing countries)
